Center Fins ???

Have a LF Synergy board.... This will be my second full yr riding. Have read that some have taken their center fin off of their boards... Was curious of the pros and cons of doing this.... Am I correct in that this will help the learning process of hitting that perfect progressive edge but make landing more difficult as the board will slide easier...???

And on a side note..... Have an I/O Caravelle and just installed about 800+ lbs w/ fat sacs.... Made a big difference in wake shape and size. I'm definatley getting more air,,, and am ready to start tryin' to hit my first tantrum..... Very Happy

Take them off and see how you like it. Personally, I would ride most boards finless but it depends on the board.

Yeah, I mean we could get into a long complicated discussion about it (which is probably what will happen even though this topic comes up all the time), but ultimately you'll just need to try it out and decide for yourself.

I did a search for "finless" after reading this yesterday. We broke the fins off our boards, but all of which have molded side fins. I like the ride better, but slid out on a w2w attempt and ended up turning my ankle. I'm not ready to blame it on finless just yet though.

Riding finless teaches proper technique, but if you are comfortable with proper edging, just try both out to see which you like more. Finless allows you to slide out or sketch out tricks a little more, but if your board control isn't that great then it will make you slide out to a crash instead of locking in.

Good luck, and it's simply a trial and error thing to see which you like.

When i first started riding i had my fins on, only 1 inch fins, it was nice for learning because i wasnt switching or jumping really, just cruising. Once i started going for w2w i took them all, it took me a few sessions to get used to it, but personally i love feeling the freeness that finless gives you.

Now im working on my w2w 360s and stuff like that, still finless... Im curious to see how it would be with my fins back on, after so long with out them.

But like everyone said. Try it out, see which you like better..

Actually i think im gonna try riding my fins again, because it will force me to learn the Switch 180 ollie ( ts and hs) more because i cant be lazy and slide around..... hmmm...
