What is the deepest that the slider will be sitting at? otherwise you're going to have to invest a lot more into the slider and find some 55gal drums to put under it.

Even if the lake isn't a constant depth, you can still use 2x4's and just pound them to level, unless the lake is 10ft deep where you're putting the slider

ya right now i could use 2x4's but when it gets higher the slope becomes much steeper so it becomes very deep next to shore. so i should go with the 55 gal drums??

55 gallon drums r hard to place securely to ur slider sometimes...I used the pink 2 inch thick insulation foam from home depot...it did cost quite a bit but it has held up really well and was much easier to secure than barrels were

dont use 2x4 if your gonna be around 5ft deep. go with land scape timbers. i bought some for a 1.79 3"x4"x8' thats alot cheaper than a 2x4
