Can anyone please let me know of a good, or even an ok, bulletin board or forum similiar to this one, except for water skiing?
I would appreciate it.
I would like to see what is new and exciting in that world as I still like to try and slalom once in a while.
I have tried google searches with no luck. |

Interesting that it appears that waterskiiing just does not have the kind of internet activity of wakeboarding.
The meagre bulletin boards that do exist seem very interested in really particular aspects of slalom skiing etc, and not much on anything else.
This includes where to ski, beginner stuff and especially there is no discussion of boats.
For wakeboarders, a discussion of the relative mertis of MC vs CC vs BU vs Tige vs everybody else is just about as good as sex. For skiers, it would seem they could not care less less. Weird. |

Closest thing I could find via googling was: http://forums.waterskimag.com/
it looks like a fairly busy group of forums. I got to try waterskiing about 20 years ago through youth group activities, but other than that, have not done it in my adult life. Got into snowboarding, then wakeboarding. |

This site JUST got started, so the forum is still developing. A guy who knows how to ski the course, but is still learning has started his own website w/ blog and forum. He has links to other slalom forums.
There are 4 or 5 on the web, but not near as active as other sites. However, people who respond are VERY knowledgable.

The core group of skiers are 35-60 years old. They grew up before the TRS-80, even. Although there are a lot of them, they are not nearly as organized on-line. The AWSA part of USA Waterski is fairly well organized, but not attracting many new members of the "wakeboarding" age.
If you are in an INT state, hook up with that crowd. www.intleague.com _________________ Original Boarder from 1983

35-45 is some of your best slalom years. Now given, at the pro level it's more like 22-30ish.
Andy Mapple (greatest skier of all time) was a pro until he was 42 and this guy skied circles around the young guys. |

At 43 I ride and ski - both in competition. For slalom, I am a bit young. For wakeboard, I am a bit old. _________________ Original Boarder from 1983
