|
|
Ok poking around at the home deport today we basically have two options for the top for our new slider that are cost effective and look possible.
1 is FRP paneling, the stuff thats white, smooth on one side and bumpy on the other (which should be the sliding surface if we use it, bumpy or smooth?) only downside is its $27 for a 4x8 sheet
2 is 1/8" tileboard, it is white on one side and its like that kinda heavy heavy duty cardboard boarderline wood material, the white part is basically a real thing veneer or the top, if that makes sense? it looks like it could slide too, but might get destroyed if it gets too wet on the brown/wood side
regardless, these will be liquid nailed/screwed to 7/16" plywood, the tile board is only $13 for a 4x8 sheet....think it will work? has anyone used it with good results? |

Don't get tileboard. It will warp as soon we the water touches it. Look for the composite wood. You can get a strip that's 12 feet long and 4 inches wide for $20 or so.
Or trex which is decking material they will have to order. It's also around $25 or so a stick.
It looks like this(only pics I have):

just use 1/2 inch pvc, it is cheap, it bends and it holds up great, it comes in up to 20ft long peaces and it is easy to install |
