Does a wakeboard lose pop like a snowboard would?? I'm guessing not as rapid or not at all since a wakeboard is stiff and made from different material. I've had my board for about 4 years and besides slider marks it's still in perfect shape.

Yes after a lot of use, the board can lose its stiffness and become too flexible. So its not as responsive off the wake. And if you've hit a lot of sliders water may start to seep into the core and make it heavier than it's supposed to be. If you ride your board enough, you should be able to tell when you start losing pop.

On a wakeboard the process would be SO slow that you are more likely to want to update your board for a newer model rather than because you actually need to because it has lost pop.

In my experience, a board that has kept it's edges intact is good for about 3 seasons. If you're riding around with your edges blown open from sliders and such, the board could be shot after one season, depending on how much you ride/grind the board.

And another reason wakeboarding is better than surfing, you die less, that means you have another day to wakeboard, which is more fun than surfing anyway.
