Old Handle

Is it possible for me to take off an old handle and put it on a new rope? this is my old rope.

I'd like it put it on a Accurate Jacket. I'm still concerned whether or not it'll be better for me to get the rope too.

I have the same rope (don't use it anymore). If my memory serves me right...there is not a loop close to the handle.
