I would consider myself a good wakesurfer. I learned on my friends Broadcast 5'6''. Now i have a boat and rather than shelling out +300 dollars i thought i would give building my own a try. It is 4' long and about 22'' wide. It has 3.5'' of rocker in the front and 1.75'' of rocker in the tail... was this a waste of time or am i going to have one crazy surf? _________________ I drink, I smoke, i have sex,... The width sounds right, for me at 220 pounds the board would be too short - small. More rocker means slower. If you want to Ollie you’ll want a lighter board. Some of the better boards are extremely light, how much does your board weigh?
There are many quality wakesurf boards, I think it would be very difficult to match the quality and performance of a well made board. Shred Stixx, Inland Surfer, and Walker Project boards are top notch. More responsive than a board like a broadcast.
That said I just completed a board building project using recycled materials. The rocker on my board is 4.5 inches, that was a mistake, but it is what it is. The cost to build my board was well over $100 and it’s quite heavy. I had a great time building my board. Here’s a link to a slide show on the build: http://www.wakesurf.net/media/showphoto.php/photo/259 _________________ Gotta Have a Hobby |

Hey Big show,
I saw the Kroger bags and then the pictures of what I thought was Griggs and it was. Nice job on the board, hopefully I'll see you out there this summer. I have a 95 Echelon with a Monster tower on it, say hi if you see me out there.

Sunday is supposed to be some nice weather, I have jeep trip planned, but if it falls through then I'll be out there for sure. The Wakefest sounds cool, I will put it on the calender. |

ELC - how did the board turn out? The rocker seems a bit extreme to me. most of the high end boards out there have very little rocker - just a slightly upturned nose to avoid pearling _________________ my silly wakesurfing blog
