| I don't understand your post. I installed mine on an I/O and it was a piece of cake. They might have a better 3d installation manual, but then it would probably bump the price. I called them a couple of times and they were very helpful. |

When we installed it they wanted us to hose clamp the servo motor on a hose that has no support behind it, and when you would move the throttle it would move the entire hose. I am just wondering what people ended up doing with the servo motor. We ended up installing it in a different place, but found it very frustrating that something that costs that much could not have a better thought out install than it did. _________________ If you do not like your job, you don't strike....You just go in there everyday and do it really half a$$ed.....Now that's the American way - Homer Simpson. |

amen. I second that post. $50,000 boat and a couple of dinky hose clamps to a hose. I already had a hose clamp fail while on the water. Had to take time out of the day to drive to the marina and buy a new hose clamp and a screw driver. PP is nice but it could use some finishing touches. _________________ If it doesn't fit, put some lube on it!!! |

Not to defend PP, I agree they could do a better job but this is a generic product not designed for any one brand of boat. Indmar, PCM and Merc. are all installed just a bit differently by each of the boat builders. But attaching a servo to a hose via a hose clamp is B.S. _________________ No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. |

How about some pixs of this stuff? What about the install...Did it take about 3 hours or so? I'm thinking about getting it... _________________ Get There... |

Get2TheRiver, dude, get it. You'll wonder how you ever did without it.
What everyone is talking about is not that big of a deal. It's just the servo motor that PP uses to adjust the speed. It's held in place on the engine via hose clamps on the large coolant hoses. It's just a little Mickey Mouse. You would think they would offer a few different types of mounting brackets by now. Oh well. It works. _________________ If it doesn't fit, put some lube on it!!! |

| Took me a couple of hours. The worst and most anxious part is cutting the hole in the bottom of the boat. That was scary. |

In case anyone cares....You can also hose clamp it to one of the exhaust manifolds...Which is what we did....Feels a lot better to hose clamp it onto an item that actually has some support behind it...Dont think you can beat cast aluminum.
The install took us about 3 hours as well...We spent so long F***ing around trying to find a better solution for that servo motor. The problem we had with the servo motor is the throttle linkage they gave us was shorter than it should have been so every time that we moved the throttle, the hose would move as well. _________________ If you do not like your job, you don't strike....You just go in there everyday and do it really half a$$ed.....Now that's the American way - Homer Simpson. |
