I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to the boat market the last couple of years because I am not going to be buying a boat and my friends aren't asking my opinion when they upgrade, so it isn't an issue.
I realize I am probably pretty late on this, but bear with me, if you will. Who's ridden behind it? Driven it? Tell me what your thoughts are please.
The second summer I rode a lot and progressed a lot, most of my pulls were behind my friend's 210 and I learned to really love that wake, and the way it drove. I'm a big fan.
I saw the new one at the Grind deal yesterday and saw several things I really liked, although I was blown away that it was a totally new hull. I know I had seen something about it on here, but had no idea it had actually happened. This makes me even more bummed because my favorite wake ever is the MC 205 that is rumored to be going...but I digress.
I loved the flip up seat on the port side. Not only is the flip up cool, that particular section was the weak point of an otherwise good interior on the old 210. I hated that damn cushion always coming off and it was just not a useful space.
Like the different aft bench, but where the hell am I going to pass out/make out at the end of a long day? Does look cool though.
I was told the new wake has the same lip at the top w/o the trough effect at the bottom. "More of a tabletop jump" were his words.
Liked the tower - that semicircle BS they had a couple of years ago looked like ass.
Not a big fan of the new graphics. Just for giggles - if I were to buy one new, would I be able to get it naked and buy aftermarket decals from say, 02? Surely the dealership sells replacement graphics for boats that get refinished after a ding, right?
That's about all I got a chance to see in a quick glimpse. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and thanks in advance. |

I read a lot of good things over at DWB after this years Boat Hop in regards to the new 210. The general consensus was not as much kick, but just as much height, with a longer, more friendly wake. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |

| I'm hoping to get a ride behind it at Aquaholics in a couple of weeks. |

I'm hoping to ride behind one eventually too. Most of what I read and what I typed a few minutes ago might as well have come from a Nautique brochure. On paper, it's the greatest wake ever produced in the history of the world. Just like every board gives you 3 feet more pop than last years' model. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |

I had a set behind it at the boat hop on Saturday although with the conditions it was tough to judge. There was heavy chop and I took the first set so we were still getting the ballast fixed. I think the consensus was that everyone really liked the wake. It is not as abrupt as the old 210 and not such a severe trough in front. We ran stock ballast (around 1000#s) and 7 people in the boat. By the end of my set I was getting it figured out and got popped huge on a crow. Over-all I really liked the boat. The flip up seats are nice and the center bench seat is brilliant. We had 5 people facing the rider comfortably with no one in the bow. Storage was nice. Everyone had a lot of crap and it all got tucked away nicely.
I also rode the Tige RZ2 and wasn't all that impressed. The wake was a good size but the boat is so wide that we had to ride all the way in and it was still a little too wide for me. They also sacrificed some comfort and usability for style. On the nose of the boat the fiberglass gunwhales come to a point instead of flat. So you can't stand on the side of the boat by the nose. I tried by habit and got jabbed in the foot by an 80 degree fiberglass point. You can kind of see what I'm talking about in this pic:

Was there a guy in that photo....
Yes, you can purchase without graphics(stickers). In fact, I would guess if you had a relationship with the dealer, they could work a deal to just put on '03 graphics(the best ones..... ) in lieu of the new ones.
In my limited experience with the boat(boat show), I really liked the boat. I went in thinking I would hate it, being the owner of a '03.....but I was impressed.
No idea about on the water performance. |

I don't think that was Brad. That was from the Tige website...or was that the joke? Damn I'm slow. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |

Yeah, you know they actually paid me to ride as long as they could use my photo on their website. It was worth it for them because on their feedback 8 out of 10 people said they bought the boat because they wanted to look as badass as me in that pic. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

ontrider, she's not my wife. She was just another part of the packaged deal they threw in. It was worth it. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

| I've always thought the 21' boats made the perfect wake. Although my only extended experience on a 23' boat was on my old roomie's 00 LSV, which had the widest rampiest wake ever. I need to get behind some of these bigger boats. I have friends w/ a 24 SSV and a LSV. |

Don't discount all big boats because of your experience on the LSV. It was on the diamond hull at the time. The new LSV and the 24SSV will rock your world, I promise. I LOVE wide wakes. There's nothing better than going big and floaty and still landing on the downside of the wake. I was riding 80' on my VLX when I had it, and I'm not even that good. So much fun. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |
