|
|
| I bought an 05 Liquid Force Litmus in Feburary of 2006. Went to get my board out today to ride for the first time this season a fairly large portion of the laminate on the underside of the nose of the board has begun to be peeled back. I didn't ride that board today because I didn't want to ruin the board. What do I need to do? Is this fixable? or do I need to send the board back to Liquid Force? If I have to send it back to Liquid Force will it still be under warranty? also If I have to send it back do I send it back myself or do i need to take it back to my board shop? Any Help is greatly appreciated! |

I don't think that it's that big of a deal but I'm not sure. I do remember hearing on another site that, that's just the way LF boards are, and that, that happens to all of them eventually (the graphics peel off) it happened to someone and they posted pics of the boards, from what I remember of the post they still rode their board and it was fine but again I don't know for sure...If I find the pics or something I will post them. But from what I remember you should be ok.
you may still want to talk to LF because they might take care of it for you _________________ If you are assuming I’m a guy by my screen name, you would be very surprised if you saw me in a bikini

Is it just the graphics or can you actually see foam. Check with our local shop they might warranty it. But usually only good for a year. If you have to fix it what you can do is pick up some JB weld (not quick weld) at home depot. Tape off the board around the area to fix. Mix up the epoxy and use a popcicle stick and get alot inside the board. once it is totally covered on the inside allow the skin of the board to lay back down. Using a squeege or even a credit card force the epoxy deeper into the board by squeeging the skin of the board. Then squeege the excess epoxy out of the board. Remove the tape with excess epoxy on it. Using packing tape, tape the board shut taping to the bottom of the board and pulling it tight around to the top side of the board. This should cure your delaminating problem. _________________ Skiing made me board,

wakeG,
I posted a thread about it not too long ago. I just continue riding like normal, and cut it off if it comes off any more. It hasn't grown much. |

| My Player was replaced under warrantee, there was obviously no signs of abuse, so they handled it quickly and replaced it immediately |

| if you use this glue from Bob Smith Industries and the accelerator spray, you can squeez some of that glue on the delam then spray it with the accelerator. let it sit for a couple hours then smooth it out with sandpaper. that'll stop the delam and it's really a lot easier than mixing epoxy. make sure you use the glue with the purple lid. |

Thanks for the tips. I can't see any of the foam but just wanted to be sure as this is the first time I have had this problem with any of my boards. After looking at the board this morning it might just be the decals peeling off. The part that is beeling off is very thin and it looks as if there would have to be a lot more damage to have the foam exposed. I still plan to let my board shop know what is going on just to see if i can get any help from them at all. Hey never hurts to get a new board!! |
