Currently riding an 06 Parks 140 and I don't really like it anymore. I'm not really sure why... I guess I feel like I am having to fight the board the whole time riding.

I don't really have a local shop where I can demo high end boards so I am confused on what I should try next. I have Murray CT bindings so any board that will work with those I will consider.

Research and opinions. Look for a board that fits you or what you want.

you have to decide what it is you don't like about the parks. Is it the rocker, the edging, the speed? pinpoint the problem, and then you can pick a board that fixes the issue

Decide what characteristics you like in a board and then narrow down your search from there. Check out the board guide in wakebaord magazine over the last few years and/or the board guide at www.wakeside.com. For example, if you like a loose board with wake to wake pop and soft landings, check out the afore mentioned board guides and see which boards fit that criteria.

Since you don't have a place to demo boards near by, see if anyone you know might happen to have one of the boards you're interested in and ask them if you can take a spin on it. I recently did this when I bought my last board. By using the board guides I had narrowed my selection to about 3 boards. I ended up with the Shane and it fits my riding style like a glove.

aarond0083, bindings work with any board so you don't have to worry about that if you like the way your bindings fit and feel.

It seems difficult to keep the board on a consistent edge and by the time I hit the wake I don't feel in control of the pop. I also feel that it is a little slow and sitting too deep when just carving around. I ride at 21-22 depending on conditions so speeding up isn't the answer with the board sitting low.

It just seems like a hard board to ride and I have to fight it the whole set. I guess I am looking for something that is a little easier.

jhilly8982,

I didn't post the thread for smart ass comments. It seems many have said you either love or hate the Parks. If you have nothing to contribute don't f*cking post.

A lot of people feel that way about people who don't READ the posts.
There's only about 1000 topics on boards and a gigantic guide - http://www.wakeboarder.com/products/showcat.php/cat/1

Nobody can answer what board is for you, but you. So pick something middle ground (ie. NOT a parks) and you'll probably do fine.

There's nothing wrong with hyperlite boards... people just need to research and figure out what they want. The Parks is just not known as a very "universal" board you could say....

aarond0083, do your research, for example your feel out of control on your pop because you have poor handle postioning and "jump" off the wake...that wasn't a smartass response...well kinda, but your post is similar to asking what kind of board to buy that will help you land a 1080

ontrider, thanks for the support

Pro models are not univerasal hence the need to demo.

ontrider, ha Laughing

aarond0083, what level are you riding at? If you are sort of new to the sport then it may not be worth the money to buy a new board so early, because you may be able to get use to it. You still learning edging and stuff or no?

colefooter,

I would say I am an intermediate rider. I can stick all of the 180's, FS 3's, backrolls, and almost there with my tantrums. I feel that my edging technique is pretty solid but who knows.

jhilly8982,

No problems man. You just came off as 'this is just another newbie on the forum who shouldn't be posting this' with your response.

aarond0083, is there any chance you should be riding a bigger board? Just a thought. I'm interested to hear what you come up with, if you do find a solution, because my brother complains about the same thing on his board and we've been trying to figure out if it is his technique or if it just isn't the board for him. He's on a Watson.

I'm 6 foot 170-180 depending on the time of the year so a 140 seems to be the right size. I may try The One and definitely will go for the 142 rather than 137.
