just make sure you square up right. It's absolutely crucial. Also, make sure you're throwing it off the very peak of the wake. You need all the height you can get, because the tripping motion really kills your speed

Also, use a progressive edge. For some reason most instructional videos tell you to "get on it" right from the start. I was really struggling when trying it this way. Went out with a guy the other night and he told to edge much more progressively and what a difference that made. I kept casing the wake the other way. First couple of tries with a more progressive edge and I was easily landing in the flats and getting twice as much air. Landed my 3rd attempt after being told this after about 20 tries the other way. Also, make sure to switch edges and go straight up, not back. Your momentum will pull you across the wake, go up and you'll have lots more time to see and land the trick. Good luck, it was a great feeling finally landing that things and getting to ride away.

good advice Epic. I started trying Tantrums last year and was consistently casing the wake. I was going by what is says in the book to not edge progressively. Last week I was watching some videos I made last year and I noticed I switched edges way to early. I think by edging progressively it forces you to switch your edge later and gets you more pop and speed.

Can't wait to get back out on the water and start landing some tanny's...boat got dewinterized yesterday. Very Happy

Edge in HARD because when you hit the foam you need to even out your edge. As soon as you hit the lip, huck yourself back and look up for your landing.

You need speed for these, otherwise you will case.

I don't know about that. I'm certainly not an expert but 2 things that really helped me was a hard PROGRESSIVE edge and NOT hucking it. That's how I was doing it originally and spinning super fast and low. I could get around but it was so quick I couldn't see anything. As I started edging more progressively rather than faster (guy coaching me told me I was basically doing a raley cut) and throwing the trick more up rather than back, I had literally twice the time to complete the trick and was easily clearing the wake and could actually see the landing. It felt so much better, more like I was floating rather than hucking.

As you reach the top of the wake you really need to make sure your shoulders are square to the wake. Let go with the back hand, square up and as many people have said, concentrate on going up not back, the rotation should happen automatically.
