I talked to Lyman at the masters this past weekend for close to an hour... Somewhere in the convo I asked him how much they weighted the boat. He said 3000 pounds. Jebus H christ. We only have 1000 pounds of ballast - no wonder they can make stuff look so effortless .
Really though I was wondering how much ballast you guys weight the boats you ride behind with...
We use 1000 lbs. in a 92' ski ray _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=16993 one of few trips i got to make to the lake this year |

The boat I ride behind is somewhere between 700 - 800lbs. 3000lbs is a hella lot of weight. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

Now when you guys have all this weight, is it from some fat sacs or an internal ballast system or what? _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

I run 2200lbs... in my Malibu Sunsetter VLX
2 fat sacs to the point of popping.
and
2 side sacs on either side of the v-drive.
no wedge.
I tried to ride last weekend with just a single fatsac filled and the wake sucked.

This is like the 10th thread on this subject. Nevertheless, I run like 1800 in 3 fat sacs. It seems the average runs 1800-2000. My buddy is running like 2800 in his malibu and wake is f-ing huge. _________________ Check out https://www.facebook.com/darcizzleoffshore |

Good god ya'll are throwing a lot of weight in your boat! We put around 600 pounds in our boat and have a great wake. It's very "rampy" and solid. _________________ If my above post offends you in any way, simply ignore it. If you do not know how to ignore it, complain to me in a PM and I will show you how. |

I run 2400 lbs. In a MC 19' skier. You can still get a nice shape with about 1300+ lbs.
I just like being able to hold grabs longer and have extra time for learning the technical stuff. _________________ Raley cut everything! |
