Hello all!
At the end of last season I discovered (by the melt mark) that my rear ballast sacs caused my engine dividers to push against my exhaust manifolds. Not only do I not want that stress on my manifolds, I don't want my divider walls to continue to melt. So...I did something about it.
This is a pretty basic DIY, but I'll post the parts used and steps. _________________ 2018 MasterCraft XT20
Assembly is pretty basic. I chose basic locations of the supports and drilled 5/8" holes in the divider bracket. Be sure to leave room for the divider wall to fit in after assembly. (see pic #2)
Once your holes are drilled, drop the bar down thru each one to locate the base plate. Drill pilot holes and (for my application) use 1" stainless steel screws to secure. (see pic #3)
After base plates are secure, put bars back in place and mark the length. Stop flush with the top of the support bracket. Cut to length using a metal cutting blade and finish assembly. Applying the end caps (see pic #1) to reduce rattling.
I chose 4 supports, but 2 (one each side) are probably plenty. I also chose to paint the support bars b/c steel will rust over time.
All-in-all this is probably a 3hr project (if not painting) and will cost about $80. It's a pretty basic project but adds a little peace of mind...if nothing else.
Take care all! _________________ 2018 MasterCraft XT20
