I have used an electronic pump, one made by mercury, and a type that connects to your drill. The last one is hands done the best, it is quick, easy, and mess free. You can buy it nearly everywhere for 8 bucks or so. You need some tubing too, be sure to get a little piece so that you can store the pump with the two ends connected. The electronic one sucked the most and was the most expensive. It leaked oil and I used a couple different ones. The Mercury one works ok but it is manual and takes awhile. Below is a picture of the Mercury one and the drill one that is the best, it has the arrow pointing at it.
Just get yourself a gallon jug with a narrow neck, like a gallon jug. Then, put one hose into it and the other in your diptube. Put the pump in the chuck of your drill and pump away. When your done connect the two ends together, see, no mess!!

Nice. I just looked at a drill pump online. for 20 bucks plus shipping. I know if i go to West Marine (closes marine store) they will be like 30. Where else can you get Drill type pumps?

Install a drain plug in the pan which has an extension on it. Looks like a piece of rubber hose with a brass fitting/plug on the end. Many newer boats come with the extension already in place. Most pumps for changing oil will have an adapter included which should screw right on the end of the extension hose. Makes changing your oil a breeze. I paid around $20 for a pump kit from Boat US.

I was looking at putting a Drain Plug in my Oil Pan... but looks almost impossible without yanking out the engine. Direct drive Ford 351.. If i had a drain plug i would be set.

Old boat was an I/O and I had to go through the dipstick hole, Big PIA. I used the manual pump because I never even thought about the Drill Pump That would have been so much easier. I've seen them in the Harbor Freight catalog.
