|
|
Well, I finally got around to installing my amp, speakers, lights, and sub boxes today. I took a few pics. Obviously, the speakers weren't wired up yet in these pics but you get the idea. We ran out of daylight just as we got everything wired up. It sounds GREAT! Damn, that's loud! Especially compared to the pair of stock cheesy speakers.
I still have to go back and hide all the wiring and run wire loom on everything, but the hard part is done. Hope you guys like my "budget wake boat".

Brilliant! Great job on the setup Dave! I seem to recall from an earlier thread that this was your first time doing this. Did you paint the cans, or did they come like that? |

jjaszkow, Thanks.
Yep, first time. Fortunately I have friends who work on and around boats. One helped me with the tower install a couple of weeks ago. Another helped me with the stereo install today.
The cans came from L.A.S. already yellow. I put the Monster Tower stickers on the top cans because the "Liquid Audio" decal was upside down due to the mounting. |

Looks dope dude, nice work. Interesting place for the subs, are they all weather subs, or did you plan on keeping them dry somehow?
What type of connector is that for the lights? Any chance of getting a close pic of that plug? _________________ Neuston Boards

Sinkoumn, Thanks. The subs are supposed to be marine rated. Hopefully they'll last for a little while at least.
Here's a closeup of the quick disconnect. The lightbar was made by Mako which is, as I understand it, is now out of business. Bought it on Ebay (of course )

WattsBar=Perfect, Maybe sit the next few plays out
HHI Dave, Looks great man, really nice setup you have there. Is there any reason why 2 tower speakers are up top? I'd have put all 4 hanging down... but hey - it's your boat not mine _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

I like the two facing up and two facing down idea it's very original. Your boat honestly looks like it came from the factory with all that stuff on it...nice job on attention to detail!! |

Wow, I just realized that this thread had been brought back to life.
WattsBar=Perfect, because this was my first boat. I bought it new in '06. I started wakeboarding after I bought the boat. I'm looking to upgrade to an inboard wakeboat soon. Since I'm 42 years old though, I have to pay for it myself. Probably can't talk my dad into buying one.
Brit Rider, michigan boarder, that's because the tower is too narrow to mount all 4 of them down and the lightbar won't fit with all 4 of them up. The lighbar that's been sitting in my garage for 6 months because I'm too lazy to wire it up. |

Even though it's too narrow anyways, i still like the speaker facing up idea. It's different so I like it. |

HHI Dave, I've been trying to convince my dad to upgrade my boat for me for a while too, and I don't think that I can talk him into it either.
I even told him that I would store it for him and make sure that it gets plenty of use.
Oh well ... guess I have to work hard and save my $$$. |

HHI Dave, I'm lovin your handy work. That boat looks so clean.
So how many complaints have you gotten with the speakers being too loud? _________________ 04 LF Trip 133

I guess thats why it looks like a WWI battlefield...
Neighbor 1: Is he finally mowing his yard?
Neighbor 2: Sort of... He is plowing it up.
Plant some GD grass, newb!
Boat looks sick... The speakers sure look loud. You should name that boat Big Bird... Hell, you even have a matching handle and line combo, Little Miss Sunshine! |
