So it's only September - so what?

Anyone want to get thinking about this yet? Especially those from out of town that need to fly in?

Thinking January this time. We could do it MLK day (13-15) if we all book now, or the following weekend (19-21).

Anyhow, let's discuss.

i vote for the following weekend. that way those of us w/ passes dont have to worry about any possible blackout dates. unless you get monday off for MLK? i dunno. i'd just rather do it on a random weekend rather than a nat'l "holiday."

scott a, I know I know. I was just thinking that it might be easier for anyone coming from out of town to deal with the timing.

I am game for either weekend.

Manger, what dates do you go to Cabo?

Dunno guys. I am thinking I may hit up Breck this year for a week or so. I'll just have to see.

How does Tahoe compare with say Breck, Winterpark, Vail?

I've spent a lot of time in CO boarding but not much else.

Wakebrad, well I may be biased. I have been to CO alot. And Tahoe only once. I preferred the CO mountains much better. There are some definite fun runs out in Tahoe though. But you gotta drive an hour each way to get to the mountains. I guess I am just spoiled with being real close.

But again in defense of Tahoe, there wasn't much snow before we got there, so it could be absolute sex on the slopes with snow.

Another thing that matters to me is what to do after the riding. Well all Tahoe has are Casinos. And personally I hate Casinos. I just don't like the atmosphere. And since all the bars are in Casinos, bam your right in the middle.

But I will have to say, the company you take out there makes a big difference. I had a friggin blast last year. Laughing

Wakebrad, snow is heavier. Terrain is challenging and plentiful, especially at Kirkwood.

I'm sure others can give more of a straight up comparison.

As for nightlife - obviously Tahoe has plenty. Casinos, clubs, etc. all right there.

Well, I doubt I could convince the wife to do the wb.com thing over our traditional CO ski trip but I might test the waters. She doesn't really like that I waste all of this time on here and doesn't think the content is too positive.

It would be cool to come out and meet some of you guys in person.

I might try to make sure I am out there this year, my buddy lives on the north shore and I am usually at Alpine Ghettos or Squaw, but if somebody twisted my arm I might make the trip work out so I could hit up K-wood. As far as CO vs. CA, I would take CA most of the time, just depends on snow. I actually like the bars and house parties around Tahoe City, but you know, now that I am getting old.... plus, the terrain rocks at Squaw, tons of different lines.....

Did somebody say Tahoe

My wife gives me a hard time too, but she's still down for Tahoe. Tell her there will be other women there.

chavez, Doubtful, the bastard is in Italy right now.

I'm ready to roll, though this winter could get tricky as I need to pass the CPA exam by June, my weekends may be a bit limited.

Bethany, 1 week.... Sad

So, in celebration of the 3-6 inches that should fall Wednesday, I say we get this thing back on track.

Post up your preferred weekend.

Mine: January 19-21

All WB.commers are welcome, it a fun time and a great opportunity to meet some of the maggots behind the keyboard. I'd only suggest you're 21, South Lake is pretty boring without access to the casinos.

FYI - we were in and around the lake this weekend. It's still way too nice for snow. There are some patches at mid mountain at Heavenly but that was about it. It is getting cooler though. That thin biting air is starting to roll in. Hopefully we get a low pressure coming through soon.

Again, I am heading out the day after Christmas, and staying till school starts back for me. I havent purchased my airline tickets, but I know the day after Christmas for sure. Perhaps this year I wont get arrested at the Cowboys Thanksgiving day game and be forced to miss the trip due to court.

Maybe if you weren't such an assclown you could keep it together and make the trip. Speaking of assclowns, check out the "New Resort" thread, I think it's perfect for you this trip.
