Here are some pictures of the tower I built in winter 2005. Although its no wakeboardboat the family and I like it a lot. The tower is also a good help for beginners who like the extra pull upwards.
This spring I hope to make (or buy) some racks one for my wakeboards and one for my kneeboard. Because I'm from Holland buying on ebay is not much of an option.

Nice looking tower. Do you have a parts list of what you used, and how long did it take you?

thanks for the positive reactions.

Here is a report of what it took to make it.
Please ignore my bad-english. It is probably better than your Dutch.

Making the plans convincing my wife that the tower would look great on the bayliner and drawing in autocad took about 1 year!

Aligning of the first bar took one Saturday and half of the next Saturday. The second bar was done the rest off the second Saturday.
It took one evening to TIG-weld the side bars.
It took one evening to design and fabricate the mounting plates.
It took one evening to weld the plates to the side bars.
The upper hoop took one evening.
The forks took one evening.
Lower hoop took one evening. Measuring and welding.
Welding and aligning the forks and welding the support pipe took one evening.
Since I made the tower one year ago these are all estimates, in reality it took a bit longer probably.

This is what I used.
Gaspipe 2” (60.3x3.6mm)ca. 12meters
Welding elbows (or how are these called) n=8 (I screwed up 2).
Ball joints diameter 20 n=4 pieces.
Some plate 5mm.
SS plate 1mm. (inside boat reinforcement).
About 10 6-packs Heineken. (in Holland we actually buy them in small crates with 24 bottles).
About half a Gallon Bacardi. (the Heineken was for the help) and some Coke. (as in cola not the white powder).

What I forgot to mention is. The material I used is just ordinairy steel gaspipe. Before I took it to the powder coater I had it Galvanized (electrolite) so that the inside would be protected against corosion. Also I prefabed some holes for light-bar wiring. As an extra I also sprayed some rust protector (tectyl) with a small tube in the pipes. The kind you can spray on the inside of your car-door. If you drive realy old cars like me. Wink

Your Dutch is indeed better than my English! Surprised
