I'm not getting enough pop on these, and for some reason, I land on my back after rotating. I don't have it on video, but I'm going out this weekend, and will try it again. But just from my symptoms, what am I doing wrong?
what is the trick to the cut, pop, landing, etc? _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

Someone told me a lil trick, they told me to to drop my back shoulder and look into my arm pit facing forward, kinda lean into ur armpit too, i didnt think that would work but i treid it once and now i can land them every time. The rope does most of the work for you so its pretty easy. Hopefuly u understand what i mean and let me know if it helped. |

I had the same problem. You just gotta wate alittle longer, watch your board go up the wake before throwing it. Load your back foot. _________________ Raley cut everything! |

Dropping your shoulder is the way to go also keep your handle low and when you hit the water prepare for a hs cut _________________

ok, I went out two weeks ago, and got one on film. It's right after the backroll, here tell me what I do wrong.
the list should be long and drawn out. I already have a pretty good idea what my problem is, but I sure as hell can't land 'em!
yup it's in the media section so tell me what my problem is...

I would try to take a few big more toeside jumps and really work on your pop, let the nose of the board lift up then level out, keep increasing your edge and power until you are taking them real big, then use that same edge to throw the scarecrow.
Stand taller on your approach too, it gives you so much more power so you can carry a true edge through the top of the wake. Don't know if you have access to vids but watch how Gregg Necrasson edges in on scarecrows/elephants/ts fronts, its a very extreme edge but fundametally its beautiful, he generates so much power for his pop. |

I know you don't want to hear this, but I really don't think you're ready to be throwing this trick. Like Jim M said, work on your Toeside cut. You might be able to land a few inverts with the way you are riding, but in order to really progress, you need to start standing tall and not break at the hip so much. Maybe this one short video clip is a bad example of your overall riding, but if it isn't, go back to just wake-to-wake cuts for a little bit. No offense, I hope that helps. |

alright guys, thanks
I'll go back out and work on my ts jumps some more, I always seem to be bending at the waist when I cut in and I just can't seem to fix that. What should I do to remedy this problem?
Once I get my ts jumps good, I'll try the crow again... _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

My guess is its just a bad habit that you can lose pretty easily, it just looks like you are squatting down and preparing to 'jump' off the wake which of course isn't the best way to get pop. I wish you could put that clip on a split screen with the Necrasson toeside cut like I was talking about to see the contrast. Stand tall, I mean upright tall, and it is ok to lean away from the line to increase your edge and line tension as long as you lead with your hips and keep the handle in tight. |

You definetly need to stand tall rather than bending at the waiste and pop it before you throw it. |
