Has anyone done a DIY drysuit for wakeboarding?
Your neck and arms could be slightly leaking as they are not totally submerged.
Your ankles could be taped or renovated with water tight collars.
Your seams would not need to be perfectly tight, as you could have a driver circle and pull you out in less than 1 minute.
Has anyone converted a cheap one - piece waterproof rainsuit into a boarding drysuit?
I think I am going to give it a shot. I just wanted to see if anyone did this and had any advice.
I figure with the $389 price tag, there could be something done with a $19.99 Academy rain suit..... even if it lasted 4-3 times. |

The problem is the seals and zippers. Water gets in fast if there is any leak. Expect to have a suit full of water by the time the boat circles around.
And you're not shopping around if you plan to pay $389. I got mine for just over $200. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

bad idea. a dry suit with a big enough hole or ripped gasket will sink you to the bottom of the lake, life jacked or not, if you go in head first and water gets in your kneck seal, your done for.
id reccomend shopping around. |

w2w motive, umm any water that gets in your suit would immediately become neutrally buoyant. You would not sink to the bottom. And typically you wear a vest with your suit even if it did fill up with water. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

That's user preference. I've run w/o before and actually most people I know like to run w/o. I always had an uncomfortable feeling running w/o the vest, so I always do now.
Sorry...to get back on topic, you don't need to pay +$300. Give Grizzly Sports a call. _________________ 2018 MasterCraft XT20 |

my point was its much more difficult to swim with your clothes on because your trying to push a lot of mass through the water now and a water logged dry suit would be heavy
its like the time i was float fishing and i fell in, my waders filled up and i couldnt swim i nearly drown getting back to shore it was like trying to swim with lead weights attached to my feet and legs |
