Never knew such a thing really existed until Monday when I called our vet for suggestions on how to proceed with my Golden being labeled a "dangerous dog" in court. She referred us to a dog psychologist for a "behavior analysis" tonight.
It was pretty cool all the things she did to test his "behavior." She stared at him and made a weird little sound. He immediately laid down and rolled over to expose his neck to her. She did the same thing by standing over him. She would let him wonder around and then startle him to see his reaction. He always jumped away from the noise. Messed with his ears, paws, yanked his tail and grabbed his nose. The "dangerous dog" golden never flinched, not even when she brought a cat in the room. He tried to play with it but as soon as the cat hissed, he jumped on the table.
So much for my "dangerous dog!" Hopefully the judge accepts her evaluation and the letters from friends and lets my hound out of jail.
I need to pick up the "Dog Whisperers" book. This lady and what she could do with a dog was amazing. |
