Just wondering who out there has ridden behind or even owns a Seadoo Wake? and has used it for Wakeskating?

Just trying to work out whether the wake from the Seadoo Wake is enough to still put out a decent wake...?

With the cost difference, Seadoos look like they could be the way to go for life as a wakeskater...

Anyone got pics of the wake??

I am talking about the GTX wake (jetski type)...this was designed for wakeskaters I think?

Would be great to see pics of people actually riding behind one of these...

i have one, '06 SeaDoo GTX Wake...but i don't have any pics since it's usually just my wife driving and me skating/boarding...or vice versa... we're goin out on the lake this weekend; and i'll see if i can get a 3rd person to be a spotter and picture taker Laughing ... i know that doesn't really answer your question now... but if i get some pics, i'll post 'em sometime this weekend... btw, i've only been wakeskating 2 times, so don't expect much Laughing

That would be great - I'm just interested to see if me buying a Seadoo PWC will keep me happy - i'm even considering just wakeskating alone as the wake wont be that good for wakeboarding.

The trade off is well saying $40k by not getting a boat, and with fuel prices soaring...wakeboarding is becoming a more and more expensive sport....

I only use a sea doo for pulling into rails, when it comes to just riding it's much better to have a nice clean big wake to fly off of. Sea doo wakes do offer a nice little kick to them, but for anything big W2W i would much rather ride my X-7 or friends Super Air just because you can go so much bigger.

Yeah you could probably practice ollieing a seadoo wake... Really PWC's are best for rails and doing stuff out in the flats.

Wakeskating does not really require a huge wake to have fun. You can progress tons behind that seadoo, if you haven't already check out this site's wakeskating sister site. Http://wakeskating.com

I love boosting off a big wakeboard boat wake, but when it comes down to it i'd rather wakeskate behind a PWC. two of my friends have seadoo wake ed. that we ride behind often. for a wakeskater its much more convienient to be pulled by a PWC. if you fall the ski can fly back around and pick you up really quick. you dont need a big wake to wakeskate. sure its fun, but inside out or start up wakes are a lot of fun to pop off of.

If you ride all day behind a jetski you would burn a little over a tank of gas.. which is around 50 bucks. If you ride all day on a boat you're looking at more around 120 bucks.. so if you ride 2-3 times a week or more it would be much less expensive to ride a seadoo. the wake on a seadoo isnt huge, and I only go w2w on it as a joke trick to make my friends laugh.. when i cut out really hard for a w2w on a jetski, i make the ski start to turn Laughing

here are some riding pics that were pulled by a seadoo 2005 wake ed:

Check out the bayliner 175 they are about 12000 out the door brand new.We added a tower and about 600lbs of ballast,it gives a good wake for wakeboarding and a nice little hip for wakeskating! With the 4cyl engine we burn about 10-12 gallons of fuel riding all day!

true dat

Im witch chris on this one. i love the wake edition sea doo. it picks you up super quick and you can ride the narrower more secluded(sp?) spots that boats dont go into. The wake is fun for inside out and is also good for lip tricks. i prefer learning new tricks behind the ski because of the quick pick ups.

yee yee

my jetski has almost no wake (its a '92 yamaha waverunner, the purple one), i just use it for practicing ollies and jumping over bouys and lip tricks and stuff. Its nice cuz if you fall, they just zip back and pick you up

i ride behind the 2006 sea-doo wake edition. i have wakeboarded, knee-boarded, and wakeskated behind it. i have never been pulled behind a real wakeboat. but i love the jet-ski. a lot of fun and def cost effective.

i have some pics in my gallery. not sure how to post them in this message.

instead of making a new thread i was wondering if anyone knew if you could order the handle that comes with the wake edition sea doo for the spotter and mount it on other sea doo's?

Actually, there is "enough". It comes when you're in your 40's and you've had your 3rd or 4th full speed faceplant of the day. Then you've had...enough. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Funny thing is, within an hour or two of getting home and relaxing for a few minutes, I'm already thinking about the next time I get to do it all over again. Cool

It's a cool idea how they have made the Wake edition put out more wake than a normal jetski, basically all they have done is move everything towards the back more so more weight down the back.

Crank-RPM, i dont think it was designed to put out a bigger wake. it is the same as a gtx but has the racks and pylon. the gtx and wake edt are wider so they are more stable, but that might effect the wake a little i guess.

jet ski gtx or watever is probly better for skatin than a boat. U spend way more gas on a boat, plus u dont really need that much wak. A gtx puts out pretty good wake as i remember so id asay if you wakeskate a llot a jet ski is the better buy plus a gtx can get a wakeboard thrown pretty good to
