I was out today, and had my board leaning up against a pole when my dumb ass friend walks by, hits it, and then knocks it in the water. I picked it up to find a chip at the back tip of the board about an inch by an inch. It not terrible but it did take all the bottom off and is showing the actual inner part. Is there anything to do about this, or can the local shop fix it? I just dont want my board to be chipped. Thnx for the help.

Thats kinda hard to fix on the bottom like that. I would try to take it to your local shop, see what they say, i did that with mine and they could not do anything, so i had to do it myself. I just used some marine epoxy stuff. I held up pretty good, it starting to fall apart agian nowbut it was better than nothing. Once that happens there pretty hard to fix, but i just tried to keep the water out a long as possible. Hopefully the shop will have some way to fix it, good luck.

Yeah they sell 2-part slow cure epoxy @ home D, I fixed my board the beginning of last year and no probls yet. It helps to mask the area w/ tape and after applying the epoxy to mash it down w/ tape also. @ the store they will have a 5 min and a longer (1 hr?) dry time use the longer stuff.

Use JB weld it is awesome for this application. Use a tooth pick and make sure you really get inside the board well. Then use the clear packing tape, with the strapping is better. Put the pieces of tape on from the bottom then pull with a lot pressure around the edge of the board to the top side. This is the key to fixing this type of damage, pulling the tape tight around the edge. Once it has cured you can come back with a razor blade and clean off the excess. _________________ Skiing made me board,
