| your asking the wrong people, gotta talk to your doctor about that stuff. i was jumping wake to wake 4 months after surgery, then i got my brace and was doing inverts and stuff again about 4 months and 3 weeks after. now im about nine months out and 100% back in action without any pain! |

Fight the temptation to rush back. There's still so much remodelling of the graft going on in the first few months that can leave the graft brittle.
Follow your surgeon and physio's advice they really do know best! _________________ Hasta la victoria siempre |

If you have been diligent in your rehab and you can be disciplined not push it too hard. Try a little board riding.
At about 4.5 months I was riding on a 55ft line at 20mph doing little hops and spins.
If you take care of yourself, I promise an ACL tear will be one of the best things to ever happen to your riding. When else were you going to learn those switch toeside backside spins? _________________ "Captain of Her Heart"

I would think that wake surfing would be a good re-intro and help build back the muscles in your legs. _________________ Neuston Boards

Riding a skate while you are taking it easy can help alot and are a ton of fun. Minus big kicker/rail and wake2wake jumps, falling on a skate is nothin. _________________ WakeSurf and Wakesurfing News |

I didn't wakeboard back when I had my surgery, but I was into hockey. It was 6 months until the doc gave me the OK. I did skate a little after about 4 months, but I took it easy when I did. My surgery was done in 94, so maybe the recovery times are better now. _________________

Well it seems like you had the surgery at the right time. Recover during the winter, and by the time the water is starting to warm up again you will be ready to go. I had surgery on the 24th of Oct, ACL re-tear and 2 meniscus tears. Six weeks post-op today. I am doing so well in recovery that my surgeon isn't even going to send me to Physical therapy. I am however hitting the gym for about an hour to an hour and a half a day.
Use this time to get stronger and hit it hard in April. Have fun in your recovery. _________________ Remember the road less taken is probably taken less often for a reason. |
