I wakeboard behind a hurricane deckboat I/O with no wakeboard tower and I don't get very much air when jumping the wake. If I get good air my distance across the wake goes down. I was wondering if there might be something I could do to get better air and distance or does having a tower really help with jumping that much.

it depends, on so many different things.

Are you hitting the wake with speed?
are you hitting the wake with stiff legs?
Are you hitting the wake with jello legs?
Is your wake clean?
IS your wake washing?
How fast are you going?
How far back are you?
Are you letting the wake through you up?

Yes a tower helps. The reason being is the rope want's to be where it's attached to. If it's eight feet above the water it's a natural ability to move up higher, therefore giving you more air.

I have boarded behind different boats were I had to go faster to get air. The boat wake it puts off is small and really wide other then that I have no clue about it I just wanna get behind a true wakeboard boat wit a tower

The tower may increase the time you spend in the air, but not necessarily help you get more air.

I don't think a tower would be worth the price for that kind of boat. A tower does help with hangtime. I just think the results would be minimal with a small wake but hey do what you want. You might want to look into a wakeskate though. You don't need a huge wake to progress on a wakeskate. Or try posting in the find a pull section.
