| i would say backroll. you get to keep both hands on the handle. dont have to take a super hard cut at it either. |

| do whichever you are more comfortable with. tantrum is backflip and frontflip/ side flip is backroll. |

| See thats the thing. Everybody i have talked to says to try the backroll first but i think i have a better chance at landing a tantrum first. I can just brasp the concept of the T better. |

| well get out and throw them both and see which one you get around better. I dont like the thought of letting go with one hand and throwing the tantrum. I havent thrown one yet but im getting very close on the backroll. |

liquidrider86 backroll first you think you can grasp the concept of the tantrum better but in the long run back roll is way easier and on the tantrum if you dont t up right every single time you will fall 99 percent of the time i learned back roolls first and im glad i did cause now tantrums are easy just my opinion though _________________ you think you know but you have no idea |

| Cris, I learned the mexi before the regular. Start you progressive edge from about 15 ft. out and don't edge quite as hard as a regular BR. As soon as you feel the pop let go with your rear hand and tuck like a front roll. The landings are a little tough because they are harder to spot, but once you get the timing down after a few attempts are not too bad. Good luck. |

criswb, the key is the tuck, and you gotta spot your landing over your front shoulder, which is tricky. Also dont let the handle get away from your hip, keep it in tight. _________________

Yeah dude I just landed my first invert on Monday and again today. The HS Backroll is definately has my vote for a good beginner invert. I tried a tantrum today too. They are easy but IMO not as easy as a Backroll. The landing just seems more natural on a Backroll. Hope it works out for ya. Getting that 1st invert is tricky but after that you feel almost fearless and more inverts come along. _________________ http://www.learnwake.com/amember/go.php?r=253&i=l1 |

backroll-really easy to initiate. falls dont hurt too bad unless you underrotate and catch your nose. one of those will usually end my riding for a little while. harder to spot landing _________________ well, i did have over 800 posts.. formerly natman |

the rotation of a tantrum is easier i think although I learned backroll first. however the motion of the throwing it and the landing is deffinately easier for the backroll IMO. _________________ http://www.learnwake.com/amember/go.php?r=253&i=l1 |

I stuck my first backroll maybe three months befor I hit a tanny, and within weeks, my tannys were more consistent. By now they're about 90 percent, and I can indy them. Backrolls are still about 75 percent, for some reason i just never got them super dialed _________________
