Can someone tell me the difference between a bunny hop and an ollie? I seem to have a hard time doing bunny hop inside the wake because I cannot cut out with some speed. Any tip?

Im pretty sure theres no difference and the easiest way 2 ollie is do a cut on ur heal side but not to hard or this will make you screw it up, another alternative is just go out about 10ft and ollie out there its a bit harder but its easier then doing it in the wake... i hope this helps

A bunny hop you'd just jump up, and an ollie you push down with your back foot hard and then pull up your front foot to even out in the air. They are done differently.

I'm pretty sure they're the same thing, just a common terminology mistake like most things in wakeboarding

I am sure they are a bit different because I am entering a novice competition and the score sheet has different scores for ollie and bunny hop. You can check out http://www.hksdb.org.hk/nsa/waterski/ and check out the competition attack sheet. I need help as the competition is in a few days and obviously, ollie has a score of 250 while bunny hop has a score of only 125 so they must be different (ollie must be harder to receive a higher score.) A rider told me that the difference is that an ollie is something you do outside of the wake after you make a cut out and jump while a bunny hop is something done inside the wake. For some reason, I cannot distinguish the difference between pushing down on the back foot and pulling up the front foot and jumping with both foot. On the water, I can't be so exact so they feel the same. Help needed...

My take on it...

Ollie is loading the tail by pushing down and letting it release up by sucking up the front leg.... don't need to cut out TS/HS or anything just load the tail and pop.

Bunny Hop is just jumping the board out of the water to rotate to switch or back to regular.... IMO bunny hop is not a trick it's just a way to get from switch to regular or vise-versa....

oh, well, if that's the case, then I'm always doing ollie 180s and stuff, no bunnyhops. I do it wakeskate/skateboard style
