i use a normal ski rope but want to know wat the big deal about no streach lines are, can they honestly make that much of a difference. what is the point of wasting $80 on rope and handle(or more) when u could get a normal towline for $15. i reallize to get maximum pop u need to be able to pre load the line with tennsion before leaving the wake(which i do) but will it increase my chances of getting more height if i spend my paycheck check on an non-streach line.
thanx, _________________ WHY |

When the "snap" on the stretch rope pulls you over your heels on a BIG bs 180 air, then justify having any stretch in your rope. As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for," trust many people who've been ridingn for many years saying "get a non-stretch rope." _________________ Neuston Boards

Its hard to explain till you ride with one. You can cut so much harder, with more confidence, because the tension is consistent. Even getting up much easier. You can load the line a hell of alot harder equalling more pop. A good rope/handle is one of the most important and cost-friendly wakeboarding investments there is. Other things like boats, gas and boards aren't as 'friendly'. |

Also from a safety viewpoint if you have ever had a line break when riding if it is not a non streach line it will whip into the boat and there is the risk of smacking who ever is driving in the back of the head or who ever is watching you ride in the face. _________________ www.Parlaid.com |

Non-stretch seemed to make a big difference even for a novice like myself. I started with a stretchy rope and soon went to a non-stretch and noticed a little difference, but not much. At the end of the summer I was out with a friend who did not have a non-stretch rope. Boy did I notice the difference then! _________________ "This is looking really good" |

| I have that exact same rope from ebay. I got it along with the blue handle for $75. Rope is awesome, handle is good although I wish it was a bit "grippier or sticky". The rope made a Huge difference. I can go W2W without even cutting out far and there is more control in the air. Definitley worth the $$$. |

Like everyone else, I can't put into words the difference between a ski line and a non-stretch wakeboard line...the difference is huge. Also, like LF79 said, strecthy lines can rebound back into the boat. Before I had a spectra line, a buddy of mine held onto the handle as he was falling, really loading that line. When he finally did let go, the line shot into the boat and chipped a quarter-size hole in my gelcoat ...lucky it hit the boat and not a person though. _________________ Whoever coined the term "Near Beer" was a very poor judge of distance... |
