If that's what you're talking about, you need to have a LOT of speed (usually people do this trick when the boat is coming around a turn). Project Pat has these locked, they look super sick. They're hard to explain, but just try it out - doing it on a regular wakeboard will likely kill you. The Roams have a rounded nose and tail so they don't dig in like a wakeboard would do in that position.

| I think it's safe to say that I would be on the injured list if I tried this.

Get a roam and you can do more butter tricks than you ever imagined. Im getting one this year just to tool around on and stuff. Throwing some old bindings on it that are really loose and stuff ((hyperlite splits)) I demoed a roam and its pretty cool. Dont expect to do raileys and S-bends, but you can have a lot of fun just screwing around.

| I have an old wake board with with a pretty smooth bottom, if I took the fins out would it be similiar to riding the roam board?

No, Roam is very flexable, wakeboards are not

| you'll need to do it on the Roam. As the boat is turning, cut out in the opposite direction, and hold on to the handle with your front hand. Once you have some speed, you'll be able to press the tail of the board and lift the nose. Your front hand helps counterbalance you. If you hold on with your backhand you will spin out.

I prefer the nosepress 180s. Here's how it works. Start at the wake and cut out on your toeside edge as hard as you can. When you've built up a good amount of speed, back off your edge and put your weight on your heels (but you don't want to cut back towards the wake... just shift your weight). Let go with your front hand, put all your weight on your front foot, and press the nose while initiating (slowly) a 180. There you go!
Here's a link to a video (you don't have to do the backside 180 out, obviously)

ty540, nice
Sinkoumn, i disagree...I do them (not as big as Panakos) on a regular wakeboard (substance 141 with stock fins in) and I find them much easier at about 18 mph than 22. I can do them at 22 but they arent as dramatic

LFADAM, You can do them on a wakeboard, but in the case of someone asking how to do them, learning on a wakeboard is definately not the way to go.
The substance does have a round tip tale which does help doing the trick, but the flexability in the roam makes the trick a lot easier to do and also allows the trick to be held a lot longer.

| the boat does not need to be turning, if you can do a powerslide in a turn on a wakeboard then you have enough edge ability to do a nose press on a roam toeside or heelside edge outs
