So i was riding this weekend and had a very close call with a sandbar/exposed rock. The driver did not see it and i was behind the boat preparing to crash into a pile of rocks. I thought for sure that the prop hit since i was looking down as i was boarding and almost shat my pants.

Anyway we stopped and checked everyhting out and the people in the boat said they saw the rocks but didnt hear anything. The boat checked out fine. I took off my board to notice that the sticker/grpahic on the bottom was ripping off. Before this incident it was fine. I examined the bboard more closely for a scratch that may have caused the rip but could not find anything. The board must have just grazed the rick or whatever without scratching.....I dont know.

Anyway the grpahic is about 1/3 ripped and peeling more and more. I was wondering if there is anything that I can put on the edges that will prevent the grpahic from spreading more.

FWIW the board was a hyperlite parks i bleieve. Everything structurally seems fine. Just wanted to salvage the graphic.

If the boat cleared the rock, there's no way your board hit it. How old is that board? If it's been left out in the sun a lot that could have started the peeling, and riding it just makes it keep on getting worse.

I was off on the outside of the wake. I think that the area I was riding was shallower. I know that the entire story sounds hard to believe but i look at the bottom of the board all the tme because of the position it sits in the wakeboard rack. I know for sure before that ride that there was nothing wrong or scratched with the bottom. Then as i was taking the board off in the water i felt a the peel sticker.

The board is maybe 2 years old now. Its not a huge deal. The board still ride normal i just wondered if i could put anything on the edges to prevent it from peeling more

Is it a sticker or a decal that has peeled? If it's a sticker it's not going to stay on the bottom fo rtoo long if it's a decal that was on the board from the factory you might have some issues

It is very weird indeed.....if you guys want i can take a pic of the bottom of the board and show you how there is no scratch yet the grpahic is peeling away.

ive seen that happen to some boards. the outer layer just starts peeling. it probably wasnt from the rock/sandbar. sometimes they just start separating.

Take that back to the shop that sold it to you. As long as you haven't hit any sliders they should exchange it for you. That sucks dude.

i bought this board about 2 years ago to the date.....is there any tpye of replacement that they can do having had the board this long?

Is there anything that I can put on the frayed edges to prevent it from ripping? And then maybe refinish the part where the grpahic is missing already?

Since it is already pealing it will just keep going. Just keep pulling it off. I used to have an old free motion escape back in like 99 that the whole top pealed off and then I just had a white board.
Try to contact your local shop and see if they will do something for you. Worst case you are in the same position you are in right now.

Good luck

Hyperlite has "lifetime warranty" on their boards don't they? If you didn't do anything wrong, and if your season has come to an end, try and send it in. I've seen the exact same thing on the top of a board but never the bottom.
