I'm looking to buy a winch. Can anyone give me some input on some good winches and what is the range of cash that i'll be spending? Any help is appreciated. Thanks _________________ Pain is temporary

Pirate Winch
I think the Pirate we rode behind at Black Top Oasis this year, it was good.
get in touch with kento911 on this site he builds the pirate winch..
Rough guess on prices 1,600.00 to 2,500.00 |

here's what I think would work: go-kart or lawn mower motor, a centrifugal clutch (off a go kart) and a rather large spool. (to make rope speeds of 20 mph or so)
weld a frame around it with some bearings on the axle and have a good way to anchor it.
Keep in mind I haven't tried to build one, but Ive definitely thought about it, and taken a pretty close look at how grinch winches are put together. _________________

| jlaws, rode in 6 winch contest this year it's alot of fun, me and couple friends are going to buy one soon to do some free riding.LakeIolaLuke, sounds like that could work. The pirate winch will pull you like 45 mph, for deep water takeoffs. |
