Last week I put my boat in the water and it cranked right up like it always does, then it died. Sad The boat will run wide open but will flood otherwise. I looked at the engine and the barrels were just pouring gas into my engine. I think the float is stuck but I'm not sure how to fix it. I'm pretty pissed cause I can't go out until it is fixed. Any help would be appreciated.

FYI-the moter is a V-Drive 350

Thanks

All of the older models do. The ones that aren't Fuel injected.

Common problem on Holley carbureters. The method to fixing it is stupid simple. Take a hammer and gently tap the top of the float level adjust screw. This will knock the crap out and allow the valve to close.

If it's an electric fuel pump you can check it on shore by just turning the key on. Otherwise you'll have to hook up a set of muffs to check it.

If it's not the float sticking, it's probably a vacuum hose. Classic symptom of this is that it'll run over 2K RPM but die on the low end.
