I am just about to take delivery on my '03 Tige' 22V and I'm looking to add an automatic ballast system. I've been talking with a company that is looking to offer a system that sounds great to me. I wanted to get feedback from people who have used other systems.

The fill time sound really good. Sitting still a 1000 pound system will fill in three minutes and 10 seconds. Going 30 MPHs it will fill in about two minutes. The system empties in under two minutes. I would be looking at a four bag system.

I had a Hippo installed in my last boat and it wasn't nearly as fast as this system. Apparently the company is ramping up right now, making sure that they have all the components in stock so that they can provide excellent customer service. I'm pretty stoked on the new system and I think I'm going to get one put in my boat when they are available.

Any feedback on experiences with automated ballasts would be appreciated.

The company is called Rival Industries. It's actually being run by the Tige' dealer down in Arizona. In talking to him he seems like a stand-up guy. He wants to make sure that he can deliver on his systems and offer great support, unlike the whole Hippo fiasco.

Yes, they do offer a ballast but it is really expensive - something like $3-4K!

Sr. Funkster! What's going on? Ya, I just got my new Tige' yesterday. I'll post a pick. We need to go out riding soon!

Wakeboarder 5. I think Rival has various sizes of sacks that will work for you boat. If you want more info, email me at mikep@wrq.com.

Do you have any contact information for these people. I would be very interested in purchasing one of their systems.
Thank You,

Yes. Contact Terry Barrett at terry@tigeaz.com.

I have installed the system now in my Tige' 22V. I purchased the four ballast system from Rival, but then I worked with them to customize it into a five bag system. I have one 550 on each side of the engine, two 150s in the bow storgage, and then another 400 pounds under the floor of the bow. Tige' doesn't have a ski locker, but I installed a 6" access hatch in the floor under the carpet. The carpet snaps out so it was easy.

The ballast system performs flawlessly and fills 1700+ pounds in less than six minutes. Call Terry and he will hook you up.
