Does anyone know or heard anything about the 2006 o'brien diesel? I'm a beginner boarder - only been once in my life, and looking to get a board of my own to start out on. This board seems fairly inexpensive - I would get device bindings to go with it. I don't want to buy a piece of junk though. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
The O'Brien Diesel is Randy Harris's old pro model with a 1.8" center fin on it. THe board drew rave reviews finless - with the center fin it still rides sweet just a lot more locked-in than finless. Once you progress you can take the center fin out so you won't outgrow it right away.
The Device bindings are nice for fit & comfort & should be enough for you now - super easy to get into, etc - but in time you may want to replace them with higher wrap bindings as they are pretty low.

I have the '05 Diesel and I still love it. Nice shape and it tracks well. I'm just not a fan of the bindings that usually come with it (Device) but overall it's a great board. _________________
