Really got into the sport with a little jet boat, then did some homework and went looking for an inboard. I picked up a 1993 Tige which runs beautiful, and looks great. The hull of this boat is pretty thin (not deep), and I'm wondering if anyone has any weight advice. I'm simply thinking of friends in the boat, and/or weight in the sides and at the back. Because this is a shallow hull, should I be worried about anything.? Any advice.

600 in the back. 375 in the bow. and maybe 500 in side sacs. That will throw a sick wake. I run that setup in my 94 Prostar without the side sacs and it is awesome.

anti-shoobies... so you're telling me that you've never really had a problem with a shallow hull? I'm trying to remember how deep those hulls are. Mine is probably a foot and a half tall at the back of the boat. But I'll try the weight and see what happens.

It'll be pretty low. You just have to be careful driving through rollers so you don't dip the bow. The back wasn't a problem for me.

get a fat sac for the back and side sacs for the sides of the engine and that will be a nice wake.

I've been concerned about this too with my old slalom ski boat. it rides really low and rollers will sometimes go over the bow. I already have a lot of the weight with the 454 engine, and was considering the feasibility of a fat sack in the back and possible on the sides.

What I've been doing is going for the active ballast system. Just get a bunch of people out there and have them stand or sit in various positions throughout the boat and check it out.

Fat sack in the rear, two 15" subs and three amps in the bow! Twisted Evil Works great on my Tige'.

PS. Do you have TAPS?

I don't think the bump helps your wake Hyperryd, but I'm sure it sounds awesome.

Hey 15s and two boxes ain't light. There's probably 200 lbs in the subs and boxes, 20 lbs in the amps and two batteries are near 100 lbs. It sure is a lot more fun than a bag of water Cool

No, I don't have TAPPS, and wish I did. I think you can get it aftermarket, but for this boat it's not worth it, because I don't want to sink a tonne of money into it (just spent $700 on winterization and maintence, and another $450 on a pylon), I just want to get out there and ride. I think too that I'll mostly be using friends as ballast. I'm betting that I get get 7 or 8 of em out each time I ride. 2 of em are in the 230-260 range, so that's not bad. Other than that I'm just thinking of filling up a gas can with sand and water and see what that does. I'm not opposed to fat sacs, but I'll probably need the room. Plus with the shallow hull, I don't want to sink it too much. I'll just have to try some things and see what happens.

I have two launch pad sacs that are 350 lbs each. I use both when there are 2-5 people in the boat. However, since the boat is closed bow, when we have more than five people, I usually only fill up one. The 350 lb sacs are the same length as the big ones, with a small diameter. With only one filled up it make for a good foot rest for those in the back seat. I always make sure there is a minimum of 700 lbs in my boat, along with me and my wife.
