|

Hey guys. I've been reading all over the forums lately that riding finless can really help teach you how to edge correctly because, well, it's pretty much the only way to turn without fins! I have been seriously considering trying this to perfect my edge technique. Problem is that I ride a LF Synergy:
As you can see from the picture, there really is no molded-in anything! Apart from a subtle double concave, the board is relatively flat. Would it be a bad idea to go completely finless? The center fins are 1". Would riding with just those in be better? Or maybe ride with just the cupped side fins?
If anyone could steer me in the right direction I'd appreciate it greatly. I'm going out early tomorrow morning, and seeing how it's midnight now a response is probably not going to come. So I'll resort to my only option:
Pretty please? _________________ HOCKEY PLAYERS: The cockiest, dirtiest, most irresponsible group of athletes in the world. Live the dream until they are 35 then realize they never made it. Ladies love us, guys want to be us, we are the soul of the universe. |

First off, excellent choice on the board! I LOVE mine.
Now the synergy comes with small fins, they're actually some of the smallest. The board is already going to have a really loose feel, liquid force describes it as a "surfer" feel. So I say stick with the middle fin, and if you really want to, you can lose it and just keep the two cupped fins on. The two cupped fins are equivalent to molded.
I actually put bigger 1.5" fins on mine, really locks it down _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/
