| So the other day I went to the marina to check on my boat. Everyones worst nightmare unfolded before my eyes- My bazooka 8" tower speakers- gone! All that was left were some wires hanging from the tower, I looked at the dash- my head unit was also gone, under the dash where there used to be 2 Fusion marine amplifiers, just some cut off wires. I feel so violated. anyone that leaves their boat in the water all summer- what precautions have you taken to aviod this happening to your system? |

This happened to my entire marina! some guys pulled up at night and jacked over 10 grand of stuff. We only got a guest wakeboard stolen so it wasn't as bad ass it coulda been. But other people got all their speakers, boards, radios, ropes and other stuff jacked. They just took a knife to everything, covers and dashes. It sucked major a$$. In all, prol 20 boats got robbed.
Our wakeboard was only a guest board and only about 200-300 dollars so in all we got lucky b/c we have one of the nicest boat in the marina.
I feel your pain... _________________ 2003 Mastercraft X-2 |

I have some friends working on finding out who it was, (small town) There is actually a trailer park 1/4 mile from the marina I was told in years past that is where things turn up. Its amazing what a pair of pliers can do to the human thumb Oh and from the looks of boats around me there were others robbed too. |

The correct terminology is that you're a victim of theft. A boat can't get "robbed". Banks get robbed, people get robbed, stores get robbed, etc. A robbery is not having things stolen from your boat. Now if you were standing around your boat and someone held a gun to you while they stole your stuff, that would be a robbery.

| I would be irate. I'd be watching for the first jackass to pull out of the trailer park with a light bar and tower speakers mounted to the top of his rust bomb 1978 ford pick up. |

I could go on and on explaining it, but not sure people would understand. So I'll explain it like this. If some noob started renaming every trick known to wakeboarding i.e. twirl instead of whirlybird, would you correct him?

Too much free time?
FYI, I arrested a guy tonight 20 minutes after he murdered a female that was trying to stop him from raping a 15 year old girl. WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY? http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/police/downloads/08-23-06%20Murder%2012.pdf |

Thug Hunter, that is awesome you arrested him and maybe you shouldn't have been called a name but come one, can you see how correcting someone's terminology might be a little insensitive right after their stuff was stolen?
Brian, I hope you get your stuff back soon! Sorry to hear that. |

I was the one who apprehended him "without incident" (I like how they put that ) at a nearby shopping center.
Sorry I didn't show compasion with my original post, but I figured the previous posts already covered that for him. |

he's obviously not 14 if he just arrested someone......but some people on this site just need to chill out a little bit and not over-react to one person's post _________________ 2003 Mastercraft X-2 |

brian_216, Theft sucks and there has been too much of it lately around my family. Our truck was broken into just before we left on vacation and our insurance papers and boat andcabin keys were stolen so I had to replace the ignition. Once we were on vacation, our amp was stolen from the boat but the idiots didn't know what to cut so they cut everything. Now our old amplifier, cd changer, and depth finder don't work. If you have the serial #'s, police might help.
Maybe getting some kind of boat alarm might not be a shabby idea. My dad's been talking of snap alarms (tarp snaps trigger alarm) or motion sensors.
Hope you get your stuff back! _________________
