...Jonathon fell and we turned around in the back channel behind Wheeling Island the boat slammed to a stop very scary. I had a tight grip on the throttle and steering wheel and broke both of them as well as tearing up the prop. OOPS
Anyone know about where I could get a cool looking throttle handle and steering wheel?

As for the steering wheel you can find them anywhere. The Throttle controls can be found here.

They have several to choose from. Are you going to replace it yourself? And what about all the damage that might have been done to your lower unit?
On a side note glad to hear everyone is ok I hope.

POWERTURNER!
This should be a lesson to all powerturners out there.
When turning around to pick up a fallen rider take off the gas and let the boat come to a complete stop. Then turn around and idle back to the rider. Going full or even half speed back to the rider sends rollers everywhere, effectively screwing up your water and causing the safety hazzard you just experienced.

What does that have to do with anything?

thanks for the link on the gear -- the control I like doesn't have a link or price though...
CH 2200 Series
Ski Boats #CH2200P
Jet Boats #CH2300P
the only damage that I could find was the bent prop
I took off the old handle and am taking it to a local marina -- we may be able to replace the handle instead of the entire control unit
good advice on the slow pick up we figure the extra weight from more people made us run aground...
I will certainly avoid that spot in the future

if you bent your prop you really need to be carefull about the prop shaft. You did not say if it was an aluminium prop or stainless steel. If it is stainless i would bet that you bent your shaft at the same time. When you get a new prop be very aware of any..and I mean any vibration. Even the slightest vibration will destroy the seals on your lower unit. Vibration will also be a sure fire sign that you bent your propshaft.
