Hey guys, I'm thinking about gettin another tattoo. I'm thinking about getting it right on the small of my back, above the pant line. Now my only problem with this is that I see this as being a "girly" spot to get a tatty. Do you agree with me? Or am I just being stupid? Thanks for your input.

Yeah... I wouldn't get it then. What's it gonna be? If it's gonna be one of those little symetrical designs, definetily don't do it!! But if it's gonna be an object, say a flag, then it MIGHT be okay.

It's gonna be a barcode, with the numbers being my date and time of birth. Then there's going to be a red maple leaf kinda as the background of it. I don't think it would look good on my arm, more of a flat surface. Do you have any suggestions where else I could get it. I'm thinkin upper back, between the shoulder blades, or on one of my pecs.

This isn't exactly what it is..but close enough. Take that Maple Leaf, make it red, then make it bigger and have the barcode going overtop of it

I'm 20, in University right now to become a teacher. I think this tattoo has a lot of personal meaning, and it's not just some cool design that I like this moment. I've had this in mind for over 2 years now.

IMO, a barcode should only be on the bottom of the neck. Maybe as high as the bottom of your hairline if you keep your hair short. On the base of your back would be a really weird looking place for it and you would probably have it covered eventually.

Since you said you were going to be a teacher and may not want that bothering your future carrer, I would say keep it at the neck line of your collar.

Take it from someone that has many, many hours under a needle...YOU DO NOT want to do that on your lower back! Why you ask.....You said it before....it's girly....

I would put that on one of your legs, or on an arm or shoulder...but not the lower back. I was also going to say the back of your neck, but since you want to be a teacher...I would'nt put it anywhere it'll be seen by your future students and thier parents....

Hell, I work in the wake industry and I cant tell you how many times I have had a straight laced customer come in to buy a wakeboard for thier kid(s), and they look at me like i'm some kind of punk freak or something...I can only imagine what it would be like to be a teacher with tats... Laughing

Agreed... that has some defiente ramafacations of a chick that wants to get some. Although it is sexy. I would NOT get one on the small of your back. My friend has a asian symbol there and is saving to get it removed. IT looks very femine. Why not get it in between your pecs, or the middle of your back, or back of the calf.

K, thanks guys. I was leaning towards not getting it at the base, because all my friends and family have said the same thing you guys have just said. So now I'm thinking upper back. It will always be covered by a shirt up there at least. I have a nice red-neck sunburn, so I can tell where my shirt will cover up to !

Nick - My other tattoo, the whole purpose of it is that it is a pair of eyes, that's why the dots are in it.
