I can get pretty good air but all I can achieve is a w2w jump. I was wondering what I have to do to get into the flats. I have a 17' I/O with the rope attached to the top of the transom and my rope length is 60 feet. My boat speed is around 20mph. This weekend I had 6 people in the boat and felt my board (06 byerly) truely pop for the first time but I still only got w2w.
Do I need to hit the wake harder/faster, lengthen the rope, add ballast.

you could also try to speed up the boat and lengthen the rope.
Or buy a tower/pylon and lengthen the rope to 65 but it would still be at your 60' sweet spot. The longer rope (and the fact of being mounted closer towards the front of the boat) would allow you to cut out further, thus allowing you a more progressive cut at the wake and more time to build speed. _________________ Wake Forest University
