First invert to learn...

I want to learn how to go upsidedown. Im thinking about a tantrum over a back roll. I can do tantrums really easy on a trampoline with a handle but thats probably not the same as behind a boat. I can also do backrolls with a handle on my trampoline but i have problems with those sometimes. Wich one do u recremend learning first???

It's pretty much split across the board. Personally, the tantrum was easier for me because you can actually start learning it at a slower speed whereas with the backroll you need a solid progressive edge to get around. You can learn a tantrum by slowing the boat down to about 18, even cut in rather slowly and just huck it. You should be able to get most of the way around and it won't hurt. Then you can gradually increase your speed and edging as you're more comfortable to go bigger and get all the way around.
Plus tantrums look cooler

backroll killed me, took a while, falls hurt like crazy, i was going like 21 with a good edge, and when you underotate and just catch your nose, it kills, you fly outta both boots, smack the water, its frustrating

i learned a tantrum in 4 attempts...stuck the 5th...just commit to whatever ur tryna lay down n dont get outta the water till u nail it...

I finally have my grabbed wtw 180 down - can grab it everytime clean I'm going to try the tantrum this weekend - I think I'm ready for something new - everyone I talk with says the tantrum is easier to learn than the backroll

I always ride better towards the end of the season - our days are numbered on being able to even get our boat in the river - it is soooo low
