Need some help with a few things..

I started wakeboarding a little earlier in the summer, when i went on a camping trip with my friend, i couldnt get up on skis so they told me to try a board. I got up on that in almost no time. Ive only gone out 3 times and i can do a surface 180, cut, edge, and i can get a little bit of air off the wake, and most of the time i make it half way across or more. And this last trip i took the center fins off, so im only using the modled ones. Im being towed by a Sterling, and ionno what year it is or anything really about boats. Ive been riding on a 2005 Hyperlite Motive 140 Biolite.. and thats pretty much my wakeboarding autobiography.

I dont like surface tricks much..theyre kinda slow/boring. And the boat has no tower or anything, its a ski boat. Im gonna go out again this weekend and try to do a 180 when i go off the wake.

1) What should i be working on now?
2) Im thinking about getting my own board (2006 CWB Pure 134) Any pros/cons about this board? I want a smaller board so i could go a bit faster when i cut into the wake..
3) Any pros or cons about Torq bindings?? I was gonna get it in the package together with the board, and im not sure if im willing to trust the advertisments..They look pretty cool though..
4) Is going from a 140 to a 134 too much of a change this early??

I ride a 06 Pure and I love it, very solid and steady board.
I weight 170lbs and I'm 5'9" so I was kinda in between the 140 and 134, I chose the 140.

The Torqs are very comfortable and are a great binding.
The only draw back is that the fins that come with the board are 2" monsters, which are great til you get used to the board but they start being a bit restrictive quickly. I'd get a second and smaller set of fins less than 1" with the board and bindings.

It's a great package, and like the Motive the Pure is a rename of CWB's old pro boards (the 04 absolute) so it won't hold you back and it should be good for a few years.

Can you demo the board and bindings?
Might also be an idea to get and instructional DVD with them, it's help you a lot. The Book: Disc 2 Build a Foundation is very good for beginners.

I was just gonna ride the board with no fins, only the molded ones.. im about 5'9" or 5'10" and my weight zigzags between 130-160 cause i swim for my highschool, and i lose a lot of weight during that time of year.

So with that being said theres pretty much no drawbacks from the bindings?..

im not sure if i could demo the board or not, i could try..and ill look around. The a boat place about 100ft frmo my house, but ive never been there..Ill go check it out some time in the near future..

Try to get a 136 or 137 board and itll be fine. And try to learn a w2w and how to get more air before you try some techinal tricks.

Work on your w2w heelside and toeside, and work on your progressive edge.
