|
|
i can do grabs 180's and ive landed 360s, but still perfectin them. for me, the wakeboard season is almost over. (live in minnesota). next year, i would like to try a backroll or other invert, but i have a few issues.
first, i do not have an extended pylon or tower, just a skiboat type thing. and the wake is a foot at the most. i do not know if i could get enough hight or hangtime to land the trick. as of now i can get about 4 feet off the water with my legs extended.
second, im only 16 and my dad is overprotective. he doesnt want me doing inverts because he thinks ill kill myself. how likely is it for me to under rotate and break my neck or somethin else?
thanks |

You shouldn't have a problem with getting hurt... I'm 15 and I learned the backroll this summer. Just tighten your bindings so you don't sprain an ankle or something. Yeah, four feet is definitely enough to land a backroll - go for it. _________________ If the minimum wasn't acceptable it wouldn't be called the minimum. |

You should try either the backroll or the tantrum...be carefull tho. try to get the boat speed at a reasonable learning speed, should save you some pain _________________ Thanks God for my blessed wakeboard skills! |

| speed wise, i go about 20 or 21. is that too fast and should bring it down to 18 or 19. for my boat, the wake is a little bigger at 18, but its to wide to jump. should i do it w2w or land short |

u could destroy ur ankle and knee doin a 3...dude just go for it...tantrum backroll...whatever...if you feel that you're readty to take that next step in the progression then by all means do so...being ready to progress is the key to actually progressing...if you're not 100% sure about something then don't do it...you'll get hurt...but if you're dead set on learnin inverts then let 'em fly... |

| I would lean towards a tantrum for a couple of reasons. 1: They are a little easier than backrolls. 2. They look cooler and 3- For the most part they hurt less. Once you get used to being upside down it'll make learning a backroll that much easier. Seems like most people attempt 30-50 backrolls before landing them and nail the tantrum within 10-15 tries. |

| Epic, I wouldn't necessarily agree with points #1 and #3. Whether or not they are easier just depends on the rider. And I wouldn't say that tantrums hurt less. I don't think backrolls hurt as bad plus I've seen two people in person blow out their knees doing tantrums. |
