Well guys, some of you may know I'm about to bite the bullet on a 2006 Malibu Wakesetter VLX. But my question is still remaining, my dealer here is letting me having it for 49,000 no tax. No trailer. The original price was 53,000. So he is cutting off about 1,000 dollars assuming the trailer is only 3 grand. I'm thinking about still offering 48,000 for it plus tax. Question being, the 2007 sitting there is 57,000. I'm sure in November or December he will be getting more, and thus trying to get rid of them as well. In the end I'm sure I'll be spending about 4 grand more. Would you recommend me waiting then? Wait till the 2007's come out, pay a little bit more, and having the option then of maybe another color? Or pay a little less now, and just get the 2006. Year wise, does it make a whole lot of difference? Are the 2007's going to be much more different? I'm stuck!

Well, I saw the 2007 sitting in the showroom, and really not much has changed. I'm pretty sure the hull is still the same. I don't think they really made much changes, other than cosmetically. The dealer will be more attuned to sell you the 2007 of course because that is where he is making his money. Just my two cents.

07' VLX
Hull is EXACTLY the same
No gay windshield
No drying rack above the engine
New dash guages
Billet panels behind the rocker switches...switches sit somewhat flush
two piece rear hatch(not a big fan myself)
Monsoon now comes with Catalytic (sp?) converter
newly designed wedge and redesigned power wedge foil
rear vents have a different look
new badges on the rear, and rear/sides of the boat
optional graphics
Rockford speakers
new dash remote
silver edition steering wheel and throttle knob
I think that's about it.
IMO the dealer is paying for flooring on the left over 06....he's paying interest to have that bad boy around still.....the longer he has it, the more money he loses in the long run. I'd put my $$ on the fact that the 06 is what he wants to get rid of more so than the 07.
Either way, he needs to sell the boat. |
