we usually get pulled behind a 2005 Boston Whaler 170 Montauk. does anyone know of a realitvley inexpensive way to get around buying a tower?
we pull from the back eyelets on either side of the motor. very low pull but still can get a nice ride.
any thoughts? |

I wouldn't bother with a pole, as you'll regret the purchase and wish you would have bought a tower.
For a good inexpensive tower, check out www.assaulttowers.com.
They're Canadian too. |

Why would a pole be a bad choice, I'm looking into one as I have seen my boat with a tower and it looks terrible and probably a whole lot more expensive. Are poles cheaper? _________________ I'm new to wakeboarding I have:

Basically the pole seems like a good idea until it's in your boat. The strap that ties to the front of your boat kills the room in your bow (if you have a bow rider) and the back supports for the pole kill the room in the back of the boat. I have a couple of friends that bought poles about 4 years ago and they haven't been used in over 2 years because of this. Not to mention that they are a pain to set up and take down.
These 3 reasons are the biggest reasons to buy a tower. Well, maybe 4 reasons: a tower looks way better than a pole too.
Throw up a board rack, and now you no longer have wakeboards lying around in the boat (huge bonus). |

I just installed a Monster Tower this weekend on a Chaparral and am very pleased. Great product, great service, and solid as a rock. They have pictures on their site (www.monstertower.com) that show a Whaler install. I doubt you'll find anyone with a bad experience with their company or products - I certainly couldn't. Just my opinion, but it is one of the best looking add-on towers on the market. _________________

I think if cost is an issue, go with a pole.
we have an inboard so getting a skylon add on wasnt a biggie, also our boat is closed bow, so don't have to worry about killing seating.
I think the bottom line is cost and what you're trying to get out of it.
I looked at towers but couldn't justify the cost |

I have a Pylon, cause a Tower was Twice the price...
It's indeed cheaper, but takes away some space
but it does the job very well and is not a pain to setup.
I set up mine in not even 5 minutes...
boardracks are indeed a huge bonus on the tower.
If I had the money, I'd go for the tower now
(maybe one day, I'll change it)
