I have been looking for an inexpensive tower, but dont want a monkey bar or a cheap looking swoop tower. I found a tower on the following link that looks cool and is less than 1k. It looks like it is solid but cannot find any reviews on its effectiveness, mounting simplicity, and noise it makes on the fly. If anyone has heard anything about this tower please let me know. THanks Kevin

I have this tower on my 94 malibu. It looks pretty good, as for ease of installation, the guy I bought the boat from installed it himself with a buddy, they did a pretty good job of it. It folds down fairly simply if that is importatnt, doesn't really flex much, and my son who is 6ft and about 190 rides behind it.
the only complaint I have about it is running wires through it for speakers there are solid joints in the connections which do not allow speaker wires to go through, so I had to drill holes above and below the joints and bring the wires out and back in, but I did it on the inside part of the tower so its not really that noticeable.
I didn't really choose the tower but I would by another for the price, mine is the aluminum one so I don't really know about how the powder coated ones stand up to scratching.

I had one of the older ones on my Four Winns and it seemed to work fine. It did rattle a little and if you didn't come apart easily to fold down unless you did it on a regular basis. (keep the joints oiled up) It was definately a good inexpensive option & decent value relative to the other expensive towers. The newer one's are supposedly really solid. _________________ My therapist says it is all your fault. |

I just put one on in September of last year. Its a fairly sold tower and I think it looks alot better than alot of the monstrosities out there now. I couldnt find a better price though, not even close. Quite a chore to install, better have a nice drill and a strong arm. _________________ WakeSurf and Wakesurfing News |

The only real draw back to the tower is the installation... be ready for anything from 4 to 8 solid hours work and alot of drilling. once setup its a solid tower that looks good.
Rattles a little but most people can live with that.
I'd still pick a Monster over it but thats only my preference. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Heres a pic, not a real good one. I did get an extra set of braces. The onces they originally sent were too short and I unknowingly installed them too high on the tower, so they sent me a 2nd set.
Pretty easy to install but the drilling makes a good mess. The rattling is not so much the tower but rather the pins that hold some portions together. They have pull rings to remove them inorder fully collapse the tower. If you are not going to use some or all of them, replace them with stainless nuts and bolts. _________________

i installed mine the end of last summer and i love it. It doesnt rattle and is strong. ive pulled riders up to around 250lbs and its solid. The installation was kind of a bitch, lots of holes need to be drilled.. but hey, what do you want for a tower that can be put on any boat. probably took me about 6 hours from start to stop to get this baby finished. Looks great on my boat.IMO. Ill get you a better picture if you want, this is from last fall. I now have speakers on the tower and about 1000lbs of ballast.
remember, measure twice, drill once. and be damn carefull with the fiberglass. |
