firs off, this is my first post Smile Ok well I went on a camping trip at navajo lake last week, for 4 days, and we rented a ski boat and a jet ski, and a wake board. I was trying wakeboarding but it was really hard to get up and I couldn't do it. We tried going slow and steadily increasing, but the rope just kept comming out of my hands. I had the board like you would if you were just sitting down, it was side to side, not up and down, and one end was a little bit higher out of the water then the other, my front end. Well then since the boat rental place had no buisness, one of them went out with us. He got up every time and said that he didn't get up his first time either, he told us to floor it and then once hes up slow down a little, and it worked he got up every time. Well then we tried that with me and I almost got up a few times but I kept falling. One time it was perfect but my nose was under. And almost all the other times, when I was at the turning point and about to be totally up, I would over turn I guess you could say, and land on my face. Well I need to know a few things. My dad is now buying a boat (im not sure yet, hes been talking about a used yamaha) and I need to know what board to get. I looked here http://www.boardstop.com/index.php?listing_type=search&height_ft=5&height_in=11&weight=150&gender=M&submit=Find+Boards&rocker_type=&riding_style=N&riders_level=B but the prices on boards were outrageous (for my price) do you know what price range a cheap beginner board would run from, and is there a place where I can buy used gear?

keep your arms straight and knees bent, that's probably why the ropes coming out of your hands. as for falling forward, just lean back more. if your nose was going under, the boat was going too slow or the board may be too small. don't keep one end of the board higher because once you get up the fins will do the work. as for board prices, you can find some on ebay for pretty cheap. if not used, you can usually buy an 05 board for 250-350.
