Are you trying to land a tantrum with a late FS 180? You are not standing tall at the wake when you trip. Look at the second photo, your knees are at 90degress. Look at the photo below of someone in the correct position to throw the tanny, then look at your body position in the second photo.

Right way.

The reason the rope is ripping out of your hand is because you are not even close to landing "just-off-parrallell" to the direction of the boat, you are spinning and landing almost perpindicular to the boat because of your bad habit of spinning that late 180.

You also look to be throwing the trick too hard which is causing you to spin that late 180. Work on getting your body in the correct position at the wake when you 'trip', basically after that you just throw your head back and squezze your butt cheeks together.

heroldmike, Riding in Lake Ontario is sick, but not in the sense that you're describing it. Laughing

J.M.B, just stand a little taller. It looks like you're hitting the wake and going back instead of UP. Just worry about getting up in the air, your speed will carry you w2w. If the handle is getting ripped out on landings, maybe try not extending your arm so much on takeoff. Doing that can get you all stretched out and make you come down on your toes instead of edging away on your heels. Was that your last trick for your pass?

J.M.B, Make sure and square up to the wake when you pop.

Because you have to ease up 3 feet before the lip, you need a strong edge. Cut all the way out and cut in nice and hard. You're squaring up to the wake which looks good but because your edge isn't hard enough, it is causing you to case the wake which is probably why it's getting ripped out.

Good luck!

Make sure to keep your right hand in tight as you pop off the wake. (The hand with the rope.) This helps you rotate up and over the rope and should help with your landings.
