hey guys i recently got a new boat its a pritty small boat only about 17 feet (outboard) but it actully throws a pritty nice wave when its trimmed. i got a couple water bags and that helped alot to. i can get decent hight and can manage to pull some sketchy 3's. im wondering if theres anything else i can do to get a bigger wave and also if its worth getting a tower or pylon casue my dad is willing to spend the $$.
thanks alot guys
mike. |

heroldmike, Basically tower is marginally more stable on a boat then a pylon. A pylon will get you that extra hangtime but take up floor space and they always tend to look a little DIY - cost around 300 bucks. A tower will offer the benefits of a higher pull but also give you somehwere to store racks, make your boat looks the shizzle and be more stable - cost from 1000 to 3000 bucks _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

| I'm not such a stickler for proper grammar or punctuation on a message forum, but damn! If this first message from heroldmike is what today's youth has going for it, well...sigh. It doesn't take much to spell words correctly and use a period every once in a while. |

c0mp|ex, Wha?!
Do you honestly think that anyone bought a tower cos its weighed more??
A Monster Tower weighs 26kgs...
A Big air pylon weighs about 10kgs..
Since when did 16kgs make any difference at all?!
Thats just a pretty poor reason when theres so many real benefits to gain from a tower... _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

I'll second the Monster Tower. Great people to do business with. Products are of good quality and price.
Rapto, I hear ya.
Brit Rider your 100% correct. As usual. |

Lop, It is possible on a skinnier beamed boat to loosen slightly, or if all bolts weren't torqued down enough at point of install.
If you remove all bolts, clean the threads, loctite them, reassemble and add your second set of Anchor bolts (if not already installed) you should be set.
If its repeatedly happening then call Monster.. there's an easy fix and they'll be happy to help. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Yes, and I'll tell you why. It's not really MT's problem. It's in the folding it down. Which I didn't really think about when I started using my MT a few years ago. When you assemble it. There are set screw that you need to drill and tighten to hold everything sqare and keep it from racking. The problem is when you lay the tower back, the tendency is to fold the front arms in, which are held in place by the rather smallish set screws. Once you do this a few times, you pretty much have taken away the use of those set screws. I can slightly, with effort, move the top of my tower a ittle from side ti side, not much at all. Again, this is my fault, if I had loosened those screws when I layed my tower down, it wouldn't do this. |

i never said that would be the main reason.
and hopefully it wont be.. theres looks also and more functionality.
but he mentioned water bags and it sounded like he was looking for more weigh so i threw that out there

heroldmike, They are really adjustable.. different towers vary so refer to your chosen one but expect them to fit anything from a 17ft boat to a 24ft boat.
Your local marina may be able to install... depends how well set up they are. Call them and ask? _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |
