| I might be heading down to Utah in a couple of weeks. Is it worth it for me to drag the boat down there? I'll be spending most of the time in the Morgan valley area, probably not going to head into the south at all. Are their any lakes in the area? Is it worth it?

Holy chit that would be a pull wouldn't it?
There are a ton of lakes in the area....meaning maybe 4-6 within an hour, but some of those 20 minutes away. Close to Echo, Rockport, East Canyon, Pineview, Jordanelle, Deer Creek.....
How long are you planning on being in the area? My boat is at Jordanelle(less than an hour from Morgan), more than happy to give you a pull.
Have you been to Powell? In reality, if you did tow your boat all the way down here....it would almost be a travesty if you didn't go the extra 5 hour tow to Powell for 4-7 nights........

I'm not entirely sure what's happening yet. My oldest daughter is in Morgan right now and my other daughter is going to her grandma's house in Washington. Then we're going to fly her to Salt Lake around the 12th or 13th of August. It all depends on what's happening with my job here. If I accept the offer I've been given I'd like to take the last couple of weeks in August off before I start the new job.
I guess you really didn't need that info . My wife will want to stick around the Morgan area, she has all of her aunts and uncles around there plus her grandparents which aren't doing so well health wise. So the extra 5 hours to Powell will have to wait for another time.
It would be a pretty long pull for sure. Not a big deal for me though as I tow the boat everywhere I go. It sounds like there would be lots of choices for lakes to go to. Are they busy during the day? My daughter has her board down there right now and has been dying to go boarding. Some of her uncles have boats but they haven't had time to make it out. They're all I/O's without towers though so I don't think she has been to eager to get out behind them.
Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll have a better idea of what's going on.

Weekdays you are golden....not busy at all until people start getting off work in the evenings, then it can get busy. Weekends are worthless after about 9:30 or 10:00 AM until almost dark.
Well, I hope it works out and we can hook up for a beer...... I'll keep a look out.

Craig-R,
I was asking EJ, but if anyone else wanted to point out a good riding spot near there I'd be ok with that as well.
What's your favouite spot out of the bunch? If I make it down there I'll PM you and get some info. I'd definately like to hook up and ride with one of the locals.

I mostly stay at Jordanelle just because that is where my boat is slipped at(see photo). That is not to say that is the best lake. In fact, it is one of the more busy lakes of the above mentioned. I spent the past few weekends at Rockport and Starvation(2.5 hours away).
Starvation may be my favorite lake in Utah other than Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell.
If you do come to town, will make a point of getting out. LARGE contingent of Utah riders on WW. There are a few that post here, most notably Jay Dutton.

Bam,
Hope to meet up with you when you come down here. By the time you arrive, the water conditions MAY be getting better as kids head back to school.
Props to you if you end up towing your boat down here, that's one far drive. Got to love the commitment!
